  Ontario Base Maps (OBM)

The above map shows the Ontario Base Mapping (OBM) map data, which comes from the a Web Mapping Service. The data is equivalent to the 1:10,000 OBM topographic maps (aka topo maps) in Southern Ontario, and 1:20,000 OBM Maps in Northern Ontario. These are less common than the NTS Topo Maps for tripping, but show much more detail. Here you can pan and zoom around the map to view the data; notice how in some areas portage trails and campsites are even visible. Of course, as with most data of this type, it should be used with a grain of salt; lakes and hills don't move much, but trails and campsites sure get overgrown in a hurry! Always check other resources to make sure the trip you are interested in is still feasible!
